Practicing the Letter य (ya)

Try reading these few sentences that use the letter य (ya). Later, we'll start to put the different letters together.

You should know by now that the reason the letter य (ya) is not used in many and hungry is that Devanagari is phonetic; even though these words contain the English letter y, they do not contain the y sound.

See, य (ya) is starting to look similar to the English letter y. More importantly, it should start to look like it makes the ya sound. Read these sentences several times, until य starts to scream out the ya sound.
